Keeping the Norteño spirit alive in Houston
Music with roots
Tex-Mex Music Academy was built on a simple belief: our music — the accordion, the bajo quinto, the corridos and cumbias our families have passed down for generations — deserves a home where it can be taught the right way, with love, discipline, and pride.
We're more than a music school. We're a community where students learn to play, perform, record, and share their art with the world.

Tex-Mex, Norteño & Conjunto
Tradition
We teach the classics — Ramón Ayala, Los Tigres del Norte, Intocable, Selena, Little Joe — alongside the standards every Tex-Mex musician needs to know.
Technique
Real instrument technique: button accordion fingering, bajo quinto strumming patterns, conjunto rhythm sections done right.
Today
We blend tradition with the modern stage — recording, social media, content creation — so our students can take Tex-Mex anywhere.
Working musicians
Our instructors aren't just teachers — they're working performers, recording artists, and lifelong students of Tex-Mex. They've played the dance halls, the festivals, and the studios. Now they're here to pass it on.
